The Colors of My Life ...

The Colors of My Life ...SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Ever seen the movie The Pursuit of Happyness? I loved the part called 'Running', when the hippy took off with the bone density machine. Well I kinda feel like I'm near the crossroads, and this part of my life is called 'Painting'.

The pic is a bit fuzzy but I snapped it with my cellphone. I sent a text message to my BFF and asked the question 'is this red?' She replied with "you sure do like to paint don't you". The truth is, hell no ... I hate to painting but I just can't get it right.

I don't know why I can't get it right either. My walls actually started out a light almond (off white?) color when we purchased this home. I didn't like it so I opted to purchase an inexpensive mistint, light pinkish, color from Lowes in 2003? It's been about that long since we last painted so with my son coming for a visit, I decided to repaint and paint my life with colors.

The photo above is actually what I'm calling the accent wall. The other color we used to paint the rest of the room was called 'golden sand'. I'm really into earthy colors; browns, greens, yellows, reds, sky blue, etc. My furniture is a light chocolate suede, accent furniture chestnutty, the room's trim is a dark wood, and I like mismatched accents. I'm guessing this is what an HGTV designer would call eclectic chaos? I don't know but the real dilemma I'm facing is curtains.

I guess I'll be out shopping soon trying to find something that will go with all these crazy colors I got going on.

Today is my son's birthday, he's officially 16! I really wish I could call him up and say Happy Birthday, but he's paying his dues in juvenile detention. I'm sure that he is missing his family and wishing he had some freedom, especially today, but maybe this will help to open his eyes to see how precious life and the people in our lives are.

I'm trying to get back in the blogging habit and some of my blogs will likely be random until I submerge myself into all of my interests once more. So bare with me.

I already know what my next post will be ... driving to Kentucky VS. flying to Kentucky, trust me, it's been quite a topic these past couple of days :)

I like red! It's fun to use bright colors, you'll get used it. Maybe it has to grow on you, but I do like it. Why don't ya'll just drive to Kentucky & come on out to Tennessee & stop by the Great Smoky Mtns. Flea Market & we'll get together! I'd love to meet some fellow bloggers.

The red is growing on me (I loved your bridesmaid dress) and I am going on with my other 'bright' idea to paint the kitchen a beachy-like yellow. I'm skeeered :)

You don't know how much I would love to truck it on to the Smokies girl and hang out with you right now. I don't know if you recall the pic that Megita snapped of her messy closet or not, but my house is flipped upside down from all this painting. Plus my son is flying in on the 1st, so my hands are full.

I may be passing thru in December though :) so hold that thought. LOL

P.S. When I come your man has got to cook me up a BIG pancake! :)
